I went out to dinner last night with my usual crew. Per Maddy's request, we got Chinese. My fortune cookie was interesting because it said family would be a priority this year--aren't they always? It's a good thing I'm not superstitious or I'd spend a lot of time over-analyzing what that means. As it stands, the cookie was delicious.

After countless cups of Tim Horton's coffee over the past few weeks, I finally won something as part of the Rrroll Up The Rim To Win promotion. I won a donut! Just what I need as I begin my diet of no junk food. Still--I won!

I took Nick to the groomer yesterday, and when I went to bring him home, the groomer told me a story about how she saw on the news that the oldest dog in the world was a dachshund. How encouraging! I hope Nick sets the new record! The oldest dog ate macaroni and cheese instead of dog food--should I be feeding Nick Kraft instead of Purina?

Nicky and I have been watching old episodes of Roseanne on DVD. Tonight we watched two episodes with Nick laying like this, pinning my arm the entire time. I treasured it.

a good day for a birthday

The weather's been warm lately--very springlike. It's been raining for the most part, but yesterday was a beautiful, warm, sunny day. The kind of day where a dachshund doesn't want to go back in the house after he's done his business. There are too many things that need to be smelled!

It's currently 68 and sunny in Southeast Michigan and Nicky and I just celebrated with a nice walk. Of course he had to stop on every corner to smell what was on the breeze. Smells like good news.

paper towel sos

There's a paper towel dispenser in the men's room at work with a funny sticker on the side giving instructions on what to do in a paper towel emergency. Don't panic, just turn the knob. My only hope is people notice the sticker before it's too late.
