jet scrawl
I had a rather lazy Easter Sunday, made exciting by hanging out in the sunshine with a good friend, watching jets sketch across the heavens.

past two weeks pt. 3
Last Saturday, Megan and I ran around Metro Detroit on a mission. We had lunch at Pronto in Royal Oak, then passed this beautiful tree on the way back to her car. Autumn!

building and maintaining our world
Summer began tonight! Went out to Royal Oak for dinner with the SEMI crew, to celebrate Randy's birthday, then went to Huntington Woods for an ice cream social that was more like a mini free-fair. It was great and we ran into a number of people we know, just congregating with a few hundred other strange, idle people. When I was younger I believed everyone had to keep moving. Now I understand that we can't all be moving and some of us just have to stand still: build community. Tonight was great and the newly-arrived Good Luck CD was the soundtrack. Bliss. I love my world and this feeling of belonging. It's what I've strived for.

pumpkin season
This evening I went pumpkin hunting with Randy, Lori, and Maddy. It was the first heavy coat weather of the season, but I was only wearing a track jacket. Tomorrow's supposed to be even colder. It's about time we had some autumn weather, seeing as how it's almost November. We chased the pumpkin gathering with pumpkin cheesecake and I preceded it with a pumpkin spice latte. Somehow, pumpkins tend to make everything taste better.

september and seals
I know it can be cliche, but I very sincerely can't believe it's September. I didn't have a summer, though it seems to have had me. But I'm not complaining. It was a wonderful few months. I love this time of year, as the world transitions toward autumn. Last year I kicked off September by visiting my folks; this year it was a trip to the zoo.
