Back when I took a year off from work, Nick and I had a subscription to Netflix and we spent our days catching up on films I never saw. The past couple of years have been spent neglecting Netflix, until about a month ago when we started it back up. Nick's vets want him to rest a bit, so he and I rediscovered bonding over DVDs. Tonight we watched a snoozer, but I enjoyed it, anyhow.

Ah, a lovely night. The sun's setting, making the dining and living rooms beautiful, I just made a cup of tea, and I'm about to enjoy it all with Nick and a DVD. Bliss. Happy summer!

I took this picture yesterday afternoon when I got home from work. It sums up the way I'm feeling so far this weekend. From here on out, I'm going to try my hardest to appreciate moments of peace. I'm feeling mighty grateful and, yeah, blessed.

Three of my absolute favorite things ever are Nick, summer, and sitting on the porch with Nick on a sunny, summer day. Thankfully, Nicky is a big fan of summer porch sitting. We just spent about a half hour doing just that until I dragged us in. It was a nice time and very much needed. God bless Nick.
